Problem: A retail-industry inventory management system could no longer reliably route label print jobs to the correct printer on virtualized workstations (Azure Virtual Desktop) – an issue affecting both virtualized and traditional setups. Solution: A lean PowerShell-based solution that intercepts print jobs via a local virtual printer, automatically matches them to the right physical label printer by name recognition, and forwards them reliably. An Electron-app variant was prototyped but proved too error-prone and was dropped in favor of the leaner script-based approach. Result: Stable production operation, positively confirmed by external specialists with years of experience with the software in question.
