Problem: The existing cloud-native solution for automatically starting/stopping virtual desktop environments (AVD) across ~100 locations was error-prone and unreliable. Solution: Built a custom management platform – real-time status monitoring over an encrypted WebSocket, automatic schedules based on each location's opening hours, manual start/stop, remote deployment of software packages, and self-updating agents. Result: Fully in production, completely replacing the previous solution and running noticeably more reliably since.
